Summer Lunch 2026

This event is held every year to celebrate the achievements of local volunteers and voluntary organisations.

Our annual Summer Lunch was held on Wednesday 10 June at the United Reformed Church in Thornbury. It was a great success, with more than 100 guests attending from many different charitable and voluntary organisations in the area.

The Town Mayor, Councillor Helen Ball, presented three awards. The Alan Hudson Award went to The Armstrong. There were also two recipients of the Clare Fardell Award, Chelsea Horseman from Jigsaw and Phoebe Jones from Krunch.

This year, we also paid tribute to two long-standing volunteers at The Volunteer Centre. Alan Payne, who served as a trustee for many years and is staying on at the Centre as a weekday volunteer co-ordinator. And Michael Quinion, who acted as the Centre's IT Manager and webmaster for many years.
