The opportunity
Volunteer drivers are required to transport Volunteer Counsellors to a variety of appointments, activities and services within Bristol and North Somerset.
The Bristol Action Emotional support and Counselling Service offers a one to one service that includes visiting people in their own homes. We have a team of volunteer counsellors who do this work, two of whom are visually impaired and require a driver to take them to clients' homes. They are also offered transport to and from their own homes to the office in order to support their volunteer roles.
You will work on a one to one basis, collecting clients from their home and taking them to and from various locations; assist clients in and out of the vehicle ensuring their safety at all times; log mileage and complete expense forms on a regular basis; liaise with the Volunteer Co-Ordinator, providing feedback and reporting incidents if they occur.
