The opportunity

We are looking for local, independent, 'working' trustees to participate in the transformation of the school. The Steiner based school and the adult Camphill Community which runs it provide very rewarding opportunities for trustees. The current trustees work closely together, as well as being deeply involved in the activities and spirit of the school and community. Trustees' meetings take place several times a year, but trustees have delegated tasks taking up a few hours a week.

The organisation

Students live in extended family households, providing care & support with the help of young co-workers. Education in small classes is interspersed with artistic, craft and movement lessons and other therapeutic experiences. Daily life follows a familiar routine and there is a sequence of seasonal festivals. The school is run by a life-sharing community of house parents and teachers. There are similar arrangements for our adult community.

Skills/Qualifications

Involvement as 'working' trustees. Sympathy with the Camphill Movement and with learning disability. Particularly, financial/management skills in some cases, though not only this.
