Dogs for the Disabled

The opportunity

Volunteers needed to care for and socialise a puppy in a variety of situations such as supermarkets and shops. Generally this will last for a year. Support and training will be provided. Our dogs then go on to train as assistance dogs to help children and adults with disabilities.

The organisation

Training assistance dogs to provide independence to adults and children with disabilities. Dogs help with tasks such as closing doors, opening washing machines and picking up dropped items.

Skills/Qualifications

No experience required. Garden must be fully fenced. Puppy should be left for no more than approx 4 hours per day.
