Cats Protection

The opportunity

Cats Protection (CP) relies heavily on publicity to spread the word about the work of the charity. The Publicity Team Leader aims to keep the group profile as high as possible in the local community in order to promote awareness of the charitys aims and to signpost the services of the group.

The Publicity Team Leader coordinates and works with the publicity, newsletter and website volunteers to ensure consistent, positive and accurate messaging in the local area to raise awareness of the local group and its services. Key to this role is ensuring all messages are in line with CPs aims and policies.


The organisation

Formed in 1927, Cats Protection has grown to become the UK's leading feline welfare charity. We now helpmore than 193,000 cats and kittens every year, through our network of 250 voluntary-run Branches and 29 Adoption Centres.
The Bristol & District branch of Cats Protection is run entirely by volunteers who work from their own homes.

The branch covers the following postcode areas:

BS1-11, BS13-16, BS30-32, BS3437, BS40-41

Skills/Qualifications

Good organisational, interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills are vital for this role and knowledge of publicity and/or media skills would be an asset. Enthusiasm, creativity and sound IT skills are a key element of this role
