The opportunity

Employment mentor's role will include: helping blind and partially sighted people to search for jobs or work experience; support individual with their application; help with confidence building and interview techniques; assist with research into support at work; assist with photocopying, filing and other general office tasks; updating computer records with attendance/outcomes.

The organisation

Our 3000 volunteers are involved in:
Stopping people losing their sight unnecessarily,
Supporting more people to live independently and
Creating an inclusive society sooner for everyone

Volunteers work with blind and partially sighted people in their homes and the community, as well as at RNIB offices. Volunteers are involved in many different projects, from service delivery, to planning and user participation

Skills/Qualifications

Ability to put people at their ease; an understanding of job searching techniques; an understanding of what makes a successful job application; general IT skills; being organised and able to keep accurate records.

  • Monday: Morning
  • Tuesday: Morning , Afternoon
  • Wednesday: Morning , Afternoon
  • Thursday: Morning , Afternoon
