Enter our photographic competition and your organisation could win £50!
Volunteers' Week is a national celebration of volunteers and volunteering which takes place from 1 – 7 June of each year. It plays a huge part in raising the profile of England’s 22 million volunteers while encouraging others to get involved.
This year Thornbury Volunteer Centre in conjunction with, and sponsored by the St. Mary Centre, is holding a photographic competition for local voluntary and community organisations with cash prizes of £50, £30 and £20!
The competition is open to any volunteer-involving organisation which operates in Thornbury and its surrounding area. We would like you to submit a photograph which captures the spirit of volunteering featuring either individuals or groups of people, the local community or the environment,anything which you feel shows the work of volunteers and the spirit of volunteering – it’s up to you!
Cash prizes of £50, £30 and £20 will be awarded to the top three entries as .judged by members of Thornbury Camera Club.
Colour or black and white unmounted, 6 x 4 or 7 x 5 photographs must be submitted together with the name, address and contact telephone number of the entrant and the organisation which they represent. Entries can then be posted to Thornbury Volunteer Centre at the address above or handed into the office. Entries will not be returned to the competitor but will be kept for publicity purposes only by the Volunteer Centre. Closing date for entries will be Friday 4th June.
The entries will be on display at the Volunteer Fair in St. Mary Shopping Centre, Thornbury on Thursday 17 June from 9am-1pm. Winners will receive their prizes at our AGM and Summer Garden Party on Thursday June 17th. After the Fair they will again be on display in the St. Mary Centre and the winning entries will be published in the Gazette newspaper. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
